 Hi friends,

Many of us have heard about Software Testing Certification Programs.. What it is actually? Here is some Questions along with answers. Hope can able to clear the doubts of u and im sure it will help u to some extent..

  1. What are certification programs?
If you are in software field, you might have heard about java certified boy or oracle certified girl. Basically these are exams which are specific to a software discipline conducted by some institutes. When you pass the exam with or without flying colors you become certified in that discipline.

   2. Why should I be certified or what are the advantages of getting certified?

Well most of these institutes are international bodies, so when you get certified in a discipline, its a formal recognition that you have demonstrated a certain level of competence in the corresponding discipline.

3. What are all the Advantages?

'Exam',the one word that forced us to open even the most boring books and made us go through them all night as if they were J.K Rowling Novels.Well here, by volunteering yourself to take the exam and by paying large sums of money, you force yourself to gain knowledge in the corresponding discipline.
You will get Recognized by your peers and most importantly your boss.Management respects those who put forth the personal effort needed for self-improvement. The rewards may come in the form of promotions, increased pay. Mainly it will Adds color to your resume.

The following are some of the Certification Programs for Software Testing:
  •  Certified Software Tester (CSTE):
This certification mostly tests the knowledge of the software testing concepts, principles and practices.
  •  Advanced Software Tester (ASTE):
This certification tests the ability to develop real solutions to software testing challenges in the current IT organizations, by proposing a solution to a real-world problem.
  • Master Software Tester (MSTE):
This certification tests the ability to innovate beyond current testing practices in solving IT challenges, as well as, demonstrate public service in the IT testing

Interview Tips

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

Gud Evening. Here let me give u soem useful information about Interview Tips.

Usually interviewers form an impression on whether the candidate is good or not within 5 minutes of seeing and talking to him/her.Rest of the time, they try to validate whether their impression is correct or wrong. So its important you make a good impression in the first few minutes.

Dress code:

Well dress you wear for the interview is not everything, but you dress well, it will help you to make a initial good impression. The color of the dress gives certain impression, it seems(I dont remember paying attention to the dress, the candidate wore, but it seems it would have affected  impression at a subconscious level.)

    * Red:You wear it to attract other people's attention. If you are presenting something or you want others to pay attention to you, dress in red. This is not the best color to wear for interview.

    * Blue:If you want other people to like you, dress in blue.

    * White:It gives the impression that you are hardworking.Wear this. I mean not entirely in white but the predominant color should be white.Like a black trouser and white shirt should do.

Resume:

    * Whatever you mention in the resume, you must try to be thorough in it.

    * Be honest of what you put in it.

    * Try to keep it small,it should not be longer than 2 to 3 pages.

    * One of the main reason of rejection is, something is mentioned in the resume and when asked questions about it, not able to answer them and in few cases saying that "I have done that 'something' long back and I dont remember anything".In many cases its true that you have used a tool or something a year back and you dont remember much about it, in that case before attending the interview, brush up atleast some basics regarding it, do some home work and prepare yourself to talk about it or dont mention about it in the resume, if it is not that important.

Few more tips:

Good Communication skills: It is Obvious

Good Listening skills or understanding skills: Able to understand the questions posed by interviewer. Try your best to understand fully what the interviewer is blabbering in the first say.But if what he says is not clear, better to ask or try to confirm what you heard is correct before answering.

Confidence level: Watch your body language, keep eye contact, dont be over confident just be confident.

Two most important tips: You should have the right skills for the job. Also equally important is you SHOW or DISPLAY in front of the interviewer that you have the right skills.

$$$All the best for your Job Hunting$$$

Measuring flag pole:-) SOFTWARE JOKE:)

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

A group of managers were given the assignment to measure the height of a flagpole. So they go out to the flagpole with ladders and tape measures, and they're falling off the ladders, dropping the tape measures - the whole thing is just a mess. A tester comes along and sees what they're trying to do, walks over, pulls the flagpole out of the ground, lays it flat, measures it from end to end, gives the measurement to one of the managers and walks away.

After the tester has gone, one manager turns to another and laughs. "Isn't that just like a tester, we're looking for the "height" and he gives us the "length."..

Trojan- Overview

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

Today our PC is widely used all over. Its one of the best friend to all of us since we spend most of the time in it!Lets know about some malicious Virus attacking the System.. Today let me share with u about "TROJAN"..

What is a Trojan?

A Trojan is small, malicious program that is installed along with a more attractive one. For example, that great freeware program you got from that dodgy website? It may well be the program you wanted. The Trojan will be installed as well as the software you wanted.

Trojans are not viruses, in the sense that they don’t replicate or send copies of themselves to others. They are just another programme that can be installed on your computer, albeit a nasty one!

What do Trojans do?

A Trojan can be very malicious indeed. Most of them are intent on controlling your PC. These are called Remote Access Trojans, or RATs for short. If someone has placed a Trojan on your computer, they’ll be able to see everything that you can. Some of them can even controll your webcam. That means the attacker can see you! If you have speakers attached to the PC, they can even hear you!

Most Trojans these days, though, are placed on your computer by criminals. If you type your credit card details in to a website, for example, then the attacker can record what you type. If a criminal has control of a lot of computer, he could also launch something called a Denial of Service attack. A DOS attack is when a lot of malicious computers attack a particular network or website. The network has so many request that it can’t cope, so has to shut down. The criminals then blackmail the owner .

A Trojan can also disable your security software, leaving you wide open on the internet.

How do trojans get on My Computer?

If you have an unpatched version of a Windows operating sytem (XP, ME, W98, etc) that is allowed on the internet then you have a very high chance of becoming infected. Install Service pack 2 as matter of urgency. And get all the other Windows updates. If you browse using Internet Explorer then be aware that it is notorius for being unsecure. (At one stage, it was known as the Swiss Cheese browser because it had so many holes in it!) even with all the latest patches, someone is always trying to find a new hole in Internet Explorer.A lot of people have switched to using a browser other than Internet Explorer, the most popular choice being Firefox.

But Trojans can get on to your PC many other ways: email attachments, software/music downloads, unsafe Instant Mesaage clients, IRC, Peer 2 peer downloads, open ports not protected by a firewall – the list is long!

If I have Anti-Virus software, does that mean I am protected?

You are not necessarily protected from Trojans, just because you have Anti-Virus software on your computer. If you have Norton or Mcafee please remember this: Most popular does NOT mean best!

The problem faced by the makers of Anti-Virus software is that Trojans are easily adapted, and new versions come out all the time. Anti-Virus software makers are constantly playing catch-up. That’s why it’s important to update your Anti-Virus software on a regular basis. Besides, a really good trojan can disable your Anti-Virus.

Why do People Smoke?

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends, Why do people Smoke?"SMOKING-INJURIOUS TO HEALTH"-This line i think we had seen/heard in Cigaratte Packets. The Researches had done regarding this. Its quite interesting since Cigarette advertising is being banned in some countries and tobacco companies are becoming limited in where they are allowed to advertise. In some countries they are not permitted to advertise on billboards, television, radio, in magazines or newspapers or on buses or trains. But still, Smoking is Increasing Day by Day.. How? Lets see wat makes people to Smoke?

Many teenagers start smoking due to peer pressure. They may also smoke to feel more mature or as a form of rebellion against parental authority. It has been proved that children are also more likely to smoke if their parents do. Smoking also produces psychological dependency. Many people smoke because it helps them relax and cope with difficult situations, or because it gives them confidence. Others smoke when they feel bored.

Smoking produces a feeling of satisfaction that's difficult to give up. Nowadays it would be unheard of for people not to smoke.
Smoking is a part of everyday life, although, believe it or not, it has only recently become so.

There are over one thousand million smokers throughout the world, which is an astonishing number, considering the harm smoking does to your body, which we are all well aware of.

With this in mind, the question "why do people smoke?" is a really complicated one, that is now being explored much more in depth by many of the world's doctors and scientists. It has only recently been proved that smoking causes lung cancer amongst other serious diseases and that passive smoking is also harmful for those that do not smoke.
Thus, more and more governments are trying to make people aware of the health risks and consequences of smoking. Some governments have even banned smoking in all indoor public places.

Cigarettes are widely available and in many countries fairly inexpensive to buy. For this reason, buying cigarettes is no longer a luxury only for those who can afford to buy them, but a product that is widely attainable by most people. Peer pressure plays an important part.

Many children start smoking because their friends have tried it or smoke themselves.
Other smokers say that their habit relaxes them. This is also erroneous because if you think about it, in a lot of the situations where you would light up a cigarette, you are actually carrying out relaxing and enjoyable activities such as sitting down and having a coffee with friends, watching television or having a break from working.

Many women are afraid of giving up smoking as they think that they will gain a huge amount of weight when they stop. Once you stop smoking though, you will be much fitter and have much more energy, which could motivate you into taking up some form of exercise or joining a gym.

We can make awareness to people! But they have to take it to their mind, instead they immediately ask us "Have u been tried atleast once"? I dnt knw where it will end.. Lets spread the Awareness!

-Shilpa Shetty's Marriage-

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

The Great "Big Boss" Famous Shilpa Shetty got married
with Raj Kundra on November 22nd in Khandala. Shilpa Shetty added saying,"This is my dream wedding. We plan to shuttle between Mumbai and London after marriage. I shall strive to be as successful at home as I am outside. I want to excel as a homemaker,".She also said that she was marrying a millionaire divorcee.

His wife was Mrs Kavita Kundra.

Wat happened between them to get separated?

Raj Kundra already said this: My wife and I separated nine months ago and filed for divorce four months ago; we had agreed a mutual divorce. The reasons for the divorce are too personal for me to discuss and it would bring down my ex-wife and I do not wish to stoop down to her level as it’s very degrading. At this time I had no association with Shilpa Shetty whatsoever. I regret that my personal situation has led my ex-wife to attempt to damage the reputation of a highly acclaimed celebrity. I would simply like to take this opportunity to apologise to Shilpa Shetty and her family for my ex-wife’s shocking allegations and request the media to not give such claims so much attention without verifying the facts.

Lets pray that their marriage should be as joyable and enjoyable in their life! Wish them a Very Happy Married Life!

CRUCIAL ATTEMPTS-BE AWARE!

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

In daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation...This is for you, and for you to share with your friends, neighbours and everyone you know.It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

IMPORTANT TIPS:

1.Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit(doing their chequebook, or making a list, etc.DON'T DO THIS!)The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go.

AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE..

2. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF,

Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF!

Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car.Your Air Bag will save you.If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it .As soon as the car crashes
bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

3.Another Safety Point:

Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird.. The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door..' The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over.

The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax
women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.

Be aware Friends!

Frequently Asked Questions on Windows Vista

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

Many computer users would like to clean files from their computers but do not know what files to delete. Therefore to avoid deleting the wrong files, the computer is simply left alone to store more and more files. This can cause major problems with your computer. It can start to run slow, popup with error messages, and generally become a confusing and cluttered system.
If you do not know what files are safe to remove and delete from your computer, it is extremely important that you find out. There is one basic rule when deleting files from your computer: If you do not know what the files is then leave it alone.

What files are not safe to delete or remove from my computer?

  • BIOS Settings: Lets face it, unless you are a computer technician, you should not be flashing or upgrading your bios any time soon. The main thing you might enter the BIOS for is to set the boot order of your devices so you can boot from a cd. You cannot access the BIOS after you have loaded your operating system. See more about the BIOS.
  • Operating System files: When you install Windows (or another operating system) there will be a folder containing files that will run your computer. For Windows the system files are usually in a folder named Windows, stored directly in C: drive. My advice to you is not to even look in there. If you accidentally delete a file from there your computer might not work or startup.
  • Program Files: This is where all the programs you have installed are stored. If you accidentally remove a file from one of these folders you might cause the program to not work. If you want to remove a program you must do it through the control panel in Add or remove programs or programs and features in Vista. You cannot delete individual files hoping to get rid of the program. Some people also think that if they remove or delete the desktop icon that is a shortcut to a program, this also removes the program. This is wrong also.
  • Hidden Files: Hidden files are hidden for a reason. Do not touch them unless it is absolutely necessary. Here’s how to Show hidden files in Windows XP and Showing Super Hidden Files In Windows Vista .
What files are safe to delete or remove?

Lets just say that any file you create, you can delete. If you put a photo onto your computer it is your choice to delete it or not. Deleting this file will not effect the computer and how it runs. So if you created a word document or downloaded an mp3 file then you can delete them when ever you want to. Just make sure you know what you are deleting before you make a mistake. The files you can remove are usually stored in the documents, pictures, or music folders.

How do I safely delete or remove temporary files from my computer?

Every time you do something on your computer a temporary file is created. So if you download a file or even open a document, a temporary file is created. These files can accumulate and need to be cleared from the computer as they have no value to you. There are a number of ways to safely delete these temporary files from your computer.

1. Delete files from the C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp folder. (%temp)
2.Delete files from the C:\Windows\Temp folder (temp)
3.Delete files from the C:\Users\Mitz\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files for Windows Vista, and C:\Documents and Settings\mitz\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files for Windows XP. These files include cookies, browsing history, and more..

What programs are safe to delete or remove from my computer?

If you installed a program and no longer require it or need it then you can delete it as long as you do it properly. See how to Safely Remove or delete programs from your computer. If you do not know what program you are deleting then you should leave it alone.

Notes on What files are safe to delete or remove from my Computer?

* Once you get the hang of what file is ok to delete safely, you will never have to wonder again.
* Just stick to the main rule: Do not delete it if you do not know what it is!

Types of Group Discussion Topics

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

Many Campus is yet to come in colleges for Final year students.. Let me share with u today about Group Discussion. It will be useful for Interviewers also since im hereby giving some Topics also.

First, Let me ask u WHAT IS GROUP DISCUSSION?

Group Discussion is being extensively used along with personal interviews for the final selection of candidates. It plays a main role in selecting the best among the best. It becomes necessary to conduct further screening for choosing a few among many. It is one of the best tools to study the behavioral and attitudinal responses of the participants within some span time.

Types of Group Discussion Topics:

While preparing for GD, you need to know what short of GD topics are given in a real job test. This post tries to categories these topics into following four categories:
1. Factual topics.
2. Controversial topics.
3. Abstract topics.
4. Case studies.

Factual topics:

As the word says - these topics are about facts. You are given a factual statement and you are supposed to discuss it. Examples include:
1. Conspiracy is a very common form of political behaviour.
2. The pros and cons of having a credit card.
3. Drinking and driving is dangerous to yourself and others.
4. Terrorism breeds out of a sick mind.
5. Affirmative action draws people to work they never considered before.

Controversial topics:

These are the topics would heats up any GD:
1. Sustainable urban living without the use of excessive natural resources must be our future.
2. China is better than India in software.
3. Reservations should be removed.
4. Multinationals: Bane or Boon?
5. The pros and cons of a female President.
6. Online dating chats have nothing to do with the search for a soul mate.
7. Sex education should be implemented in all schools.
8. Life imprisonment is a good alternative to capital punishment.

Abstract topics:

These topics by itself does not tells you anything. You need to formulate what it means and how to go about it:
1. Group Discussion.
2. Position of Women in India compared to other nations.
3. Environment Management.
4. A multi-polar world.
5. The Internet and Web 2.0.

Case studies:

These topics gives you a situation (mostly a problem) and you need to chalk out a startegy to reach at a consensus solution with your group mates:

1. Lata moves from the Insurance sector to FMCG sector. Her performance during training and during the year she is assigned a small territory, is very impressive and so she is assigned a larger territory. But her performance there is not very good. Her supervisor blames her. Her excuse was being in a male dominated society. What does the central office do?

2. Prasad, who works for a reputed educational institute is made in charge of relief operations for a particular camp in an area that has been hit by an earthquake. Suddenly 1 day my cousin sisters came to my home. they asked me to prepare something since they feel hungry. I was actually looking through how to do cake for past 3 days.. so,i planned to do it and serve them. They actually asked me, whether im testing them, since im doing it for 1st time.. Anyway,i tried my best and it came well..

Hope so it will be useful to u also.. Now, Let me tell u the procedure..

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 ounces of chopped chocolate (unsweetened)
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking power
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
Cook time: 30 minutes @ 350 degrees:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease two 9" cake pans. Cut some wax paper to fit in the bottom of each pan. Lightly grease the wax paper and sprinkle flour on the pan. Turn upside down to remove excess flour.

First you want to melt your 3 ounces of chocolate. You can melt it in a small sauce pan on top of your stove on low heat. Stir every so often until melted. Now you want to use a mixer and beat your butter. While beating the butter add your sugar. Separate your egg yolks and whites. Add the yolks, chocolate and vanilla. Mix until it has a smooth consistency and no longer.

In a separate bowl you want to mix your flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Now you want to add a little to your chocolate mix. You want to take turns adding a little flour, then a little milk. Keep adding a little of each until they are gone.

Now you want to beat your egg whites until they form stiff peaks. Now fold them by hand and place in the batter. Gently mix the batter by hand and put it in your pans. Cook for 30 minutes and do the toothpick test to see if it's done.

Now, the CAKE is ready to eat and i served to my sisters.. They gave me good comment only.. So, u too try in ur home and let me know how it is.. Give me ur comments to me friends..

$Story Corner for Kids$

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

Let me Share with u an story.. My cousin Rohit was such a naughty boy.. I wil tel u his story..

Rohit was seven years old and he was the tallest student in his class. It made him feel very proud. But when he remembered some of the things he used to do as a small kid, he felt a little shy. He wished his mother would not tell those stories to her friends again and again.(EGO Problem)

Last week his mother’s old school friend had come to see her. They were meeting after 10 years. Rohit was just back from school but his ears pricked up when he heard his mother say in that goofy tone, “You know what my Rohit used to do as a baby? He used to think everything and everyone was a part of his family. So he would call the refrigerator ‘frig family. And he would call the doggy that curled up on our doormat outside ‘doggy family’”. Rohit heard his mother’s friend say, “cho chweeeet” and he ran out of the house – without any lunch. “I wish mother would not do these things,” he said for the thousandth time.

That evening his mother showed him the toys and games her friend had got for him. One stuffed dolphin and a game of blocks. Rohit got angry. “These are kids toys, kids toys and games. I am a big boy now. My hero is Spiderman. That’s the toy I want for my birthday this year. Spiderman and the spray that makes the spider web.” Rohit shouted. ‘Okay, okay, we heard you,” said his parents.

A month later, Rohit’s parents bought him a Spiderman kit for his eighth birthday. They bought him a Spiderman T-shirt and trousers, a shiny Spiderman toy and a glove with a spray bottle attached to it. “Wear the glove and then press the spray button. It will make a web pattern on the wall, Rohit’s father said. Rohit, and even his father, were so excited with the spray that they used it again and again to see who could make a bigger web! There was even a Spiderman cake.

After his friends left, Rohit opened up each gift package. Yesssss! He was a big boy now. He had got so many presents of toys and games and they were all for big boys. He especially like a Lego set that made a battery-powered robot, a snazzy car racing video game, and, best of all, a cool skateboard. Rohit went to sleep clutching the Spiderman. You see he had decided he no longer wanted his favourite stuffed toy, Pepper doggy.

As soon as his head hit the pillow Rohit fell asleep. He now slept in a room of his own. A room with sunny yellow walls. But until yesterday, he had gone to sleep clutching Pepper doggy’s ear. The softness of the toy always made him happy. But Spiderman was a metal toy. It was cold to touch. At night, as Rohit’s blanket slipped down the bed, the cold metal of Spiderman poked him. Rohit dreamt that he was being chased by icy monsters who were out to freeze him into a statue. In his dream he shouted for Pepper. Not finding Pepper, woke up screaming crying.

His mother heard him whimper and came rushing into his room. “I want Pepper. He is my friend. Big boys also have doggy friends” cried Rohit. Pepper has crept back into Rohit’s bed. Every night, Rohit and Pepper have a new adventure. In his dreams, Rohit sees Pepper in a Spiderman outfit.

Isn’t that cool? How was the Story? Hope so some comedy and adventures too happen in many families.. Enjoy the Kids activities.. It will be pleasure to watch it.. Spend time with them..

Have a great day!

Mens Fashion:

Posted by Varumana- Usha

Hi friends,

Let me discuss with Men's fashion today..

Wat is FASHION?

Fashion is not something that just exists in the modern world. The first evidences of fashion have been found even in the early sixteenth century. Fashions haven't been used just to look good or garner attention; it has also been used for various good causes. Some fashions are a silent protest; others are a rebel, while still some others are merely pointing out to something that has been grossly overlooked.

Though no fashions are permanent, some trends have always been the benchmarks of any fashions. Some colors, patterns, etc have and always will be present in the clothes section.
The In Thing!

Men are slowly but surely getting out of their three shirts three trousers wardrobe, and have been experimenting a lot with their attire. Polo shirts have now turned into one of the wardrobe basics of the entire mankind. While the shirt was available only in white until 1950, every designer has come out with creative ideas on what is the classic Polo neck shirt.

Apart from the casual wear, there are a lot of options available in formal and semi-casual dressing. Block prints and solids are emerging as the patterns for the moment. Pleated trousers are slowly going out of fashion, bringing in the sharp and snazzy non-pleated trousers to the fore.

Denim can never go out of style. A thick and strong
denim jeans or other apparel is the base of any wardrobe build. Jeans today are available in all fits
and sizes. Therefore, a six pack six footer would look as fetching as a four foot nothing in some of the latest jeans.

A Moral corporate story

Hi friends,

Gud morning. Have a great day!

Once upon a time the government with Ruling Party XYZ.. had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert.Ruling Party XYZ Said.. - "Someone may steal from it at night." So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job. Then Ruling Party XYZ Said.. - "How does the watchman do his job without instruction? " So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Ruling Party XYZ Said..,
- "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports.

Then Ruling Party XYZ Said.. ,
- "How are these people going to get paid?" So they created the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer, then hired two people. Then Ruling Party XYZ Said.., - "Who will be accountable for all of these people?" So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.

Then Ruling Party XYZ Said..,
- "We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost." So they lay off the night watchman.

INTERESTING SECURITY INFO:))

Hi friends,

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN http:// & https://?

It's all about keeping you secure. HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transport Protocol, which is just a fancy way of saying it's a protocol (a language, in a manner of speaking). For information to be passed back and forth between web servers and clients. The important thing is the letter S which makes the difference between HTTP and HTTPS.

The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure". If you visit a website or webpage, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http://.

This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular 'unsecure' language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.

This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an http website! But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.

You understand why this is so important, right? If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://.

If it doesn't, there's no way you're going to enter sensitive information like a credit card number. PASS IT ON (You may save someone a lot of grief): http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Https..
